How to swap, deal and give on Swapadda

A simple guide to posting your first listing, deciding what to ask for, negotiating fairly and completing a safe exchange.

The basics in four steps

  1. Step 1

    Post what you have

Choose Swap, Deal, Swap + Cash or Blessing. Add a clear title, an honest description and the best photos you can. The more detail, the better the match.

  2. Step 2

    Say what you want

Be specific about the item, service or skill you'd accept. If values differ, use the cash-adjustment option to keep the trade fair.

  3. Step 3

    Chat and negotiate

Reply promptly, ask questions about condition, and agree on location, time and any extra terms. Keep all communication on Swapadda for safety.

  4. Step 4

    Meet and complete

Meet in a public place, inspect everything, then mark the listing as swapped, sold or given away and leave an honest review.

What should you ask for?

Match the value

Estimate what your item or time is worth, then ask for something in the same range. It's okay to ask for cash on top if your side is worth more.

Be specific

Instead of 'anything useful', say 'a wireless keyboard' or 'two hours of graphic design'. Specific asks attract serious swappers.

Stay flexible

If you get an offer close to what you want, consider it. The best swaps are win-win, not exact matches.

Think beyond products

Services, skills and experiences often swap better than cash. A tutoring session can be worth more than its price tag.

Negotiate with confidence

Use real photos

Take pictures in daylight and show flaws honestly. Trust starts with transparency.

Pick a fair meeting spot

A public cafe, mall or metro station works well. Avoid home visits for first-time swaps.

Stay on the platform

Keep chat and agreement details inside Swapadda. It protects you if something goes wrong.

Agree on value before you meet

For cash-top-up swaps, confirm the exact amount and payment method in chat beforehand.
